The Denmark Constitution Day is marked annually on June 5. It celebrates the signing of the Danish constitution of 1849, which established Denmark as a constitutional monarchy. The day also honours the constitution of 1953, which was adopted on the same date. In Kenya, the day was celebrated with a reception at the Danish ambassador Geert Aagaard Andersen's residence in Runda, Nairobi, on Thursday evening.
