September 27 is World Tourism Day. It is celebrated every year worldwide to highlight tourism's social, cultural, political and economic value. Kenya was not left behind this year. The most colourful event this year had to be the takeover of low cost carrier JamboJet via a Twitter promotion where 100 people led by captain James Quest boarded a flight from Nairobi to Mombasa. The guests were then shuttled for a day on the beach at the Heritage Hotel which is run by CEO Mohamed Hersi who is also the chairman of the Kenya Coast Tourist Association.
